I create research-driven murals that bring local histories, cultural narratives, and community stories into public view. Drawing on archival research, oral histories, and community engagement, my work helps organizations, schools, museums, libraries, and civic partners create artwork that reflects the people and places they serve.
Based in Los Angeles, I work with clients throughout Southern California and beyond to develop murals that are visually compelling, historically grounded, and meaningful to their communities.

A Community of Immigrants
A temporary storefront mural created with Mitsuru Sushi & Grill, using family photographs and portraiture to bring the history of a Little Tokyo immigrant family into public view.

Black Walnut Chisme
A site-specific ceiling mural inspired by the threatened Southern California black walnut ecosystem, bringing native plants and wildlife into the entrance of a community lending library.

Satoru Tsuneishi Park
A proposed mural honoring Satoru Tsuneishi and Asian American history in Monrovia. Designed for a 102’ by 6’ park wall, the composition brings together portraiture, landscape, and archival history in a sequence of interconnected scenes that unfolds as visitors move through the park.

1. Discovery
We discuss goals, audiences, site conditions, timeline, and budget.
2. Research
I gather historical, cultural, and community information relevant to the project. Depending on the project, I may spend weeks reviewing historical photographs, newspapers, oral histories, city archives, and community collections before drawing the first sketch.
3. Design
Concept sketches and designs are developed and refined collaboratively.
4. Production
The mural is painted and installed according to project requirements.
5. Community Celebration
Projects can include public talks, oral history workshops, public programming, walking tours, educational materials, classroom activities, or unveiling events.

Los Angeles Mural Artist
I create murals throughout Los Angeles, including Little Tokyo, the San Gabriel Valley, Orange County, and communities across Southern California. Travel for regional and national projects is available.
Collaborative Projects
In addition to my own mural commissions, I have collaborated with fellow artists on the production of large-scale public artworks in Los Angeles.
Terasaki Budokan Mural
I assisted in the painting of this large-scale mural on the exterior of the Terasaki Budokan in Little Tokyo. Working alongside the lead artist, I contributed to the execution of the mural during on-site production. The work celebrates the shared history of Jackie Robinson and Wat Misaka, connecting African American and Japanese American histories through sport and community.
